| Korea International Terminals (KIT) is a joint venture company comprising the major shareholder, Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) together with Hyundai Merchant Marine and Hanjin Shipping. It is located at Gwangyang Port Phase II, a natural deep-water port situated along the main trade arteries of Northeast Asia.
Ideal for servicing the largest vessels, KIT has a depth alongside of 16 metres and an approach channel depth of 20 metres.
Growing trade volumes within the region will enable KIT to serve as a major transshipment center for containers to / from China, Korea, Japan and other Asian countries.
KIT also assists in the growth of Korean export industries, such as those located in Seoul metropolitan area as well as in the nearby Yochon Petrochemical Industrial Complex.
KIT will not only facilitate Korea¡¯s growing trade volumes, but will also help to accelerate Korea¡¯s importance as a logistics hub for Northeast Asia.
